REVIEW OF LUNCH IN SABRI RESTAURANT OF HOTEL SURBHI MUNDRA

When you are alone and your family is out of the town, it is hard to decide what to do for today’s lunch, dinner or breakfast. Whether to eat veg or eat non-veg, cook at home or go out, whether in a hotel or a restaurant, go for a Thali, a la carte or a buffet. So many questions, is it not?

After spending sufficient time on this, I finally decided to visit Hotel Surbhi for my lunch. To be precise, it was on 12^th Feb 2018 (Monday).

I had been to this hotel lot of times in the past thirteen years, either alone or with my family. And I never wrote any review for Hotel Surbhi before.

However, after visiting here so many times, and during informal exchange of a few words with the hotel staff each time, I could steadily gather some information about Hotel Surbhi.

I hope this information will be useful to many locals of Mundra, as well as tourists and travelers who are planning their trip either to Mundra or Kutch District.

I am residing in Mundra MICT Township since the year 2005 and working with Mundra International Container Terminal (MICT) now known as DP World Mundra, and would like to share some information about the hotel in the form of a review on my blog – BEST REVIEWS ON HOTEL STAY, FOOD AND HOLIDAY TRAVEL – MY HOLIDAY TRAVEL REVIEWS

I have also clicked photos in Sabri Restaurant as well as in Hotel Surbhi at various points. Mr. Ganesh who was at the reception counter of the restaurant accompanied me to take those clicks.

The hotel Surbhi serves food for guests in their Sabri Restaurant situated at the ground floor. They also have separate arrangements for parties, get-to-gathers, celebrations and social functions either in the adjoining hall or on the first floor large conference hall or on the outdoor terrace garden giving a view of surrounding area, ie. with Gazebo to enjoy in a true European style.

Hotel Surbhi is one of the best three star pure vegetarian hotels in Mundra. I can add further to say that it is the most moderately priced hotel for food as well as for your stay. If you looking for cheapest hotels in Mundra to dine out or even for a stay, then Hotel Surbhi is one of the best choices.

The Sabri Restaurant is very popular in Mundra since last so many years due to the quality of food, taste and excellent service by a well trained staff, cleanliness and also hygiene.

Moreover to highlight is that, the quantity of food served per dish, is appropriate and satisfactory, neither too less or too more. They are in line with their slogan – come hungry, leave happy.

The Sabri Restaurant Menu Card had lots of varieties which can satisfy all your gastronomical cravings for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

There are so many varieties available in Hotel Surbhi’s Sabri Restaurant viz. South Indian Breakfast Delights, Indian breakfast, Sandwich, Grilled sandwich, corn flakes, hot dog, burger, Frankie items, pizza items, appetizer soups from the Chinese department, starters, starter combo, tandoori starter, noodles, Chinese fried rice, sizzlers, choupsey, continental, new arrivals in Indian Veg, paneer sabri bahar, rice, pulao, biryani, khichadi, dal, tandur ki diwani, fresh salad, yoghurt and curd, raita, papad, chaat, fresh fruit juice (seasonal), butter milk and lassi, delighted falooda, beverages, sweets, fresh fruits, ice cream etc. totaling to around 400 food items.

Over and above this, if you want you can order a fixed Punjabi Thali priced at Rs. 180/- each or a Deluxe Punjabi Thali priced at Rs. 240/- each (a thali from soup to ice cream).

You can imagine now, how difficult it is to place your food order in Hotel Surbhi’s Sabri Resturant for your breakfast, lunch or dinner. 

Again, after spending sufficient time on this, I ordered Kerala Special Masala Dosa priced at Rs. 160/- as it was one of the today’s special menus. The restaurant Steward inquired how the taste was, and told me that this item is a new addition to their South Indian varieties and they have recently hired a special cook from the South India for these preparations.

Even though this dish was costly, I ordered it as it was something very special. And so it really was. The taste of Dosa was really great having enough of cheese and masala with vegetables inside. The Sambar and coconut chutney were also very delicious. The quantity or the size of the Kerala Special Masala Dosa was really sufficient, and it was served just like a Spring Dosa (ie. which is rolled and cut into pieces). I also had cold and sweet butter milk following this, to soothe my stomach.

Hotel Surbhi claims to serve fresh, organic & hygienic food made from the own farm & dairy to fit every occasion. It is their commitment to maintain culinary excellence by providing freshest quality local ingredients in an elegant style.

Hotel Surbhi believes that customer service is an attitude and not a department, and the customer should not be just happy but delighted. This makes the hotel maintain the ranking as one of the well managed and best hotels in Mundra.

Hotel Surbhi, I would say is one of the best places to stay in Mundra. Hote Surbhi has various types of accommodation viz. A/C DELUXE, LUXURIOUS SUITE ROOM, NON A/C DELUXE, and A/C DELUXE DOUBLE to choose for your stay. All types of the rooms look to be very spacious as what could be seen on the hotel’s website. You can stay here with your family if on leisure trip, or also while on an official business trip.

Surbhi Hotel provides all the necessary hi-tech amenities required by business professionals such as fully A/C Conference Hall with creative interiors to accommodate 150 persons in a theater style, which is really ideal for corporate seminars, conference get-to-gathers, or dealer meetings etc. There is a L.C.D. Projector in the conference hall.

There is enough space for free car parking, security guard, internet connectivity (Cyber Cafe), Local, STD, & ISD telephone lines, Banking Service & ATM Facilities, HDFC Bank and ATM machine just next to the hotel. It is a high-tech venue for conferences and Banquets, travel desk, round-the-clock room service. Surbhi hotel also provides pick up & drop facilities.

Not to say about color television and cable service which are to be taken for granted, Surbhi hotel also has a Gymnasium with highest quality fitness facilities, and the equipment are from the top brands. Hotel Surbhi thus tries to give you a complete experience and not just your stay.

Location of Hotel Surbhi is in the heart of zero point, a place where four roads meet. It is on the way to Adani port road Mundra, Kutch, SEZ and Mundra Port, and MICT presently known as DP World Mundra.
